Q: What are your top priorities when designing a new space?
A: I love to see the beauty in old things. I’m a huge thrifter in my free time, so when I’m designing a new space I love to see the beauty in existing pieces. Most of the time, I’ll look at what my clients already have in their decor and I’ll pair those with details that I think will complement well and will bring the best out of each piece.
My biggest dream since I was little is to fix an old inn that currently sits in my hometown.
Q: Describe your design aesthetic.
A: I love all styles of designs, there’s no doubt about it. But, I usually lean towards a cozy aesthetic with classic styles that have a modern twist. Because I’m very outdoorsy, I also love bringing natural elements to my designs, whether through greenery or wall colors.
When I’m not designing, I love to hike and spend time on my back porch. Spending time outdoors recharges me and helps me feel inspired.
Q: What are your favorite picks for Fall?
A: I’m obsessed with anything striped or plaid for fall decor. This Square Woven Plaid Pillow with Fringe is perfect, the warm tones and classic plaid pattern, it basically screams fall to me.
I feel like fall is all about layers and this Oversized Chunky Hand Knit Decorative Throw is a great choice to add over a sofa or your bed. I’ve been slightly obsessed with this deep clay color for my fall decor, and I’m not lying when I say I got maybe one or two for myself. When it comes to fall, you can never really have too many throws or too much plaid in your decor. This Alpaca Plaid Throw is so beautiful, it can easily be part of your decor all-year-round.
When it comes to fall decor, I’m a firm believer that you can add hygge accessories and these Andelyn Frosted Glass Hurricane lanterns are the perfect example. I love the matte glass that brings that modern touch while you still have that rustic fall style aesthetic.
The best way to upgrade your fall decor is to incorporate dried flowers and stems that bring nature to your home. I love the simplicity of these Dried Bleached flowers and the texture they can add.
